Community Guidelines
Moodzy exists for one simple thing: real, friendly, in-person connection with people near you. You set a mood, you find people and short-lived local events nearby, you chat, and sometimes you actually go meet up. That only works if it stays safe and genuine — so these guidelines are the deal between you, everyone else here, and us.
They're written in plain English on purpose. Read them once and they'll make sense, because they're mostly common sense: be a real person, be kind, keep it clean, and look out for each other. If you wouldn't do it face to face with a stranger you respect, don't do it on Moodzy.
Be real. Be kind. Keep it clean. This is platonic — not a dating or hookup app. Anything that sexualises or endangers a minor gets you banned and reported to authorities. You can Report and Block anyone instantly from their profile, a chat, or an event.
01The spirit of Moodzy
Moodzy is a free, location-based way to find people and local events near you, right now. Events are short-lived — most disappear after about four hours — so the whole point is to meet, do something, and move on. It's built for genuine, platonic connection: making a friend, finding people to do a thing with, showing up to a small local gathering.
To be crystal clear: Moodzy is not a dating app. There's no swiping, no romantic matching, no hookups. If you're here for that, you're in the wrong place.
Everything below comes from a single idea — keep this place real, kind, and safe enough that meeting someone new actually feels good. When you're deciding whether something's okay, that's the test.
02Be real
Moodzy only works when the person on the other end is who they say they are. So:
- Be yourself. Don't impersonate another person, a business, or a public figure.
- No fake or throwaway profiles, no pretending to be someone you're not, no bots.
- Use a real, accurate age. Moodzy is for people 13 and older, and your age helps keep younger users safe.
- One account per person. We allow one account per phone number — don't try to get around that.
- Your display name, photo, and bio should represent the actual you, not a character built to deceive people.
Catfishing, sockpuppets, and lying about who you are to get close to someone all break this rule.
03Be kind
Treat people the way you'd want to be treated by a stranger who turned out to be a good one. We don't allow:
- Harassment, bullying, or piling on — including following someone across chats and events to bother them.
- Hate speech or attacks on people because of their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any similar trait.
- Threats of violence or wishing harm on anyone.
- Encouraging someone to hurt themselves, or content that glorifies self-harm or suicide.
Disagreeing is fine. Being cruel is not. If someone asks you to leave them alone, leave them alone — and if they don't, you can Block them and they'll disappear from your world here.
If you or someone you're talking to is in danger or thinking about self-harm, please reach out to local emergency services or a crisis helpline right away. Moodzy isn't a crisis service, but we'd much rather you get real help fast.
04Keep it clean
Again — this is a platonic, all-ages-13-and-up space, not a dating or hookup app. So keep it clean:
- No sexual or pornographic content, no nudity, and no sexually explicit messages, photos, or location pins.
- No solicitation — don't use Moodzy to proposition people for sex, or to advertise or arrange sex work.
- No using moods, events, or chats as a cover for romantic or sexual hookups.
We run profanity and image moderation filters, but they're not perfect, and the responsibility is on you to keep things appropriate. If something would feel out of place in a friendly public meetup, it's out of place here too.
05Protecting minors — zero tolerance
This is the line we will never bend on. Moodzy has zero tolerance for any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, or endangers a minor — known as child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
- Never share, request, or create sexual content involving anyone under 18 — drawn, edited, AI-generated, or real. All of it is prohibited.
- Never sexually proattach, message, or attempt to meet a minor. Grooming behaviour is reported, not warned.
- Don't try to obtain a minor's private information, photos, or location.
Anything involving CSAE is removed immediately, the account is permanently banned, and we report it to the appropriate authorities — for example NCMEC and/or Indian law enforcement — as applicable. We act on this under POCSO and Indian law, and we cooperate fully with investigators.
If you ever see something that endangers a child on Moodzy, report it in-app right away and email grievance@moodzy.club. You can also read our dedicated Child Safety page.
06No illegal or dangerous activity
Don't use Moodzy to do, plan, promote, or facilitate anything illegal. That includes:
- Buying, selling, or arranging drugs, weapons, or other illegal goods.
- Organising or threatening violence, or coordinating people to harm others.
- Promoting terrorism, dangerous organisations, or violent extremism.
- Any other activity that breaks the law where you are.
Events that are really fronts for illegal activity will be removed, and the people behind them can be banned and reported.
07No spam, scams, or self-promotion
Moodzy is for connecting with people, not marketing to them. Please don't:
- Send bulk, repetitive, or unwanted messages, or flood events and chats.
- Run scams, phishing, fake giveaways, investment or crypto pitches, or anything designed to trick people out of money or information.
- Use Moodzy to advertise a business, sell products, recruit, or drive people to other platforms.
- Post links or codes that lead to malware, scams, or sketchy sites.
A genuine local event you're organising is welcome. A funnel to sell something is not.
08Respect everyone's privacy
We work hard to protect people's privacy — for instance, the location others see is randomised by roughly 100–300 metres, so your exact spot is never shared, and phone numbers are never shown to anyone. Don't undo that for someone else.
- No doxxing. Don't share anyone's private information — real address, exact location, phone number, workplace, or other personal details — without their clear consent.
- Don't screenshot or repost someone's private messages or photos to embarrass, threaten, or expose them.
- Don't pressure people to reveal personal details they're not comfortable sharing.
For more on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
09Meet safely
Most people you'll meet on Moodzy are great. But meeting anyone new in person carries real risk, and a few simple habits go a long way:
- Meet in public. Pick a busy, well-lit place for a first meetup — a café, a park, somewhere with other people around.
- Tell someone. Let a friend or family member know where you're going, who with, and when you expect to be back.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off — before or during a meetup — you don't owe anyone an explanation. Leave.
- Go at your own pace. Don't feel rushed into meeting up, sharing details, or going somewhere private.
You can Report and Block anyone instantly from their profile, a chat, or an event. Blocking removes them from your Moodzy entirely. Ghost Mode also lets you browse invisibly when you'd rather just look around. Use these whenever you need to.
Moodzy is a neutral platform that helps people find each other — we're not a party to any meetup and aren't responsible for what happens in person. You interact and meet at your own risk, so please look after yourself.
10What happens if you break the rules
We review reports and moderation logs, and we respond based on what happened and how serious it is. Depending on the situation, we may:
- Give you a warning.
- Remove the offending content, event, or message.
- Temporarily suspend your account.
- Permanently ban you from Moodzy.
- Escalate to law enforcement or other authorities where the law requires it or where someone's safety is at risk.
For the most serious things — anything involving a minor, credible threats of violence, or clear illegal activity — we skip the warnings. The account is removed and reported. We may also keep limited records of violations for safety and legal reasons even after an account is gone, as described in our Privacy Policy.
11How to report and block
If someone's breaking these guidelines, you don't have to put up with it — and you don't have to confront them yourself.
- Report: Open the person's profile, a chat, or an event, and choose Report. Tell us briefly what's wrong — that context helps us act faster.
- Block: From that same profile, chat, or event, choose Block. They'll be removed from your Moodzy and won't be able to reach you.
Reports go to our moderation team and are logged for review. Reporting is confidential — the person you report isn't told it was you. If you're not sure whether something crosses a line, report it anyway and let us take a look.
